THE TEAM

Jared Pinson

Lead Pastor

Jared and Kylynn have spent more than half of their lives all over the world, but God brought them together in Southern California. As they both grew up in missionary families across Europe and Central America, they each embraced diverse cultures from a young age.

Now, living in Los Angeles, they see the city’s incredible fusion of people and cultures as a mission field waiting to be reached with the life-changing hope of the gospel. Their shared passion of living for Jesus and making Him known throughout this city and the world has united them in their call to church planting in Los Angeles.

In the last decade of serving and leading various teams, including Student Ministry in the east side of the San Fernando Valley at CityLight LA, God has prepared their hearts in specific ways and affirmed this calling through the preaching of His Word, divine circumstances, counsel from mentors, and confirmation in Scripture.

We’ve seen God do incredible things in our lives, and we anticipate even greater things to come!

Dale Johnson

Spiritual Assimilation Pastor

For over 31 years, Dale Johnson has been steadfastly committed to answering God’s call to touch the lives of others, serving as an instrument of God’s grace in Virginia, Japan, and now Los Angeles.

In November 2019, Dale faced the profound loss of his wife of 20 years to cancer, which brought deep pain and led to a period of intense questioning. Rather than asking “Why, God?” Dale sought to understand “How?” this experience could be used in his life.

Through a process of healing and reflection, Dale found a renewed sense of purpose: to share the hope of Jesus and to ensure that the remaining years contribute even more to the Kingdom of God. Reaching Los Angeles with the Gospel has since become Dale’s central mission, with the goal of planting churches that impact the world by transforming the city, one neighborhood at a time.

THE strategy

  • Priority is placed on seeking God’s guidance at every step. This is achieved through consistent prayer, including prayer walks and special gatherings, inviting God’s power and presence into every aspect of the journey.

  • A core team is assembled 4-6 months prior to launch, ensuring that they embody the church’s values and personally live out what will be practiced corporately.

  • Through local “Go and Tell” initiatives, the church aims to identify the greatest needs in the city and partner with schools, sports, teams, and missions to serve in impactful ways, with the hope of reaching more people.

  • Plan 2-4 preview services to introduce the community to the church’s culture and invite non-believers to engage in the mission.

  • Establish weekly services of music and preaching where the community will begin to gather together, encounter God personally, and build relationships.

  • Weekly small group meetings are offered in homes across the city, focused on Bible study, accountability, and building relationships.
